Second Annual Hatsquerade
The Liberty Grand, Toronto - Sep 10, 2010
Hats on For Awareness is hosting its Second Annual Hatsquerade on September 10th at the Liberty Grand at 8pm. Tickets are $150/person with the proceeds going to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health to help them provide essential services for those suffering from mental illness and addiction and eliminate the stigma associate with both afflictions. The event will feature Glen Peloso, television host and celebrity designer and Ms. Universe Canada. There will be an assortment of hats created by some of Ontario’s finest milners on display, as well as a silent auction and a performance by the winners of So You Think you Can Dance Canada. Hats on For Awareness encourages everyone to wear their favourite hat and join them to raise money for this very important cause. Parkinson SuperWalk 2010

2010 marks the 20th anniversary of SuperWalk and it will be Parkinson Society Canada’s biggest fundraising event yet! Proceeds from SuperWalk will help to fund new research programs, and provide resources for education, advocacy and support services to the over 100,000 Canadians living with this debilitating disease. This year it is our goal to raise $3 million, $900,000 of which is hoped to come from generous supporters in Central and Northern Ontario. The Hamilton SuperWalk is being held on Saturday, September 11th at St. Peter’s Hospital, with registration beginning at 9:30 am. With your help we can give people with Parkinson’s and their families a better life and a brighter future. ANIMAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION - RAFFLE TICKET SALES

ANIMAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION volunteers will be selling raffle tickets in Jackson Square (corner King & James, Hamilton), Thursday, & Friday, 9 & 10 September in the Standard Life Atrium, and Saturday, 11 September inside the Farmers' Market, 10 am - 5 pm. Tickets for the annual raffle are $1 each and prizes will be on display. First Prize is a gold and cubic zirconia pendant; second prize is $150 in Presidents Choice gift cards; third prize is $100 and fourth prize is a cute stuffed toy cat. There will also be catnip toys and dog cookies for sale. All proceeds support AWA's rescue and adoption work. Walk, Wheel Or Run And Help Make Muscles Move! Join The 2010 Toronto Walk For Muscular Dystrophy. The second annual Walk for Muscular Dystrophy will be hosted by the Toronto Walk for Muscular Dystrophy planning committee on Saturday, September 11th at Cherry Beach/ Clarke Beach Park. Festivities begin at 10:00a.m. with participant registration and the walk, wheel or run begins at 11:00a.m. The celebration includes activities for kids, snacks and refreshments, and even a visit from local Fire Fighters. Walk participants can choose from a 1km or 5km route.
