Swing Announcer
Mitch’s interest in radio is only surpassed by his love of music. He started DJing youth centre dances in Toronto’s Jane & Finch area in 1979 as a teenager, playing soul, funk and disco. By high school he had already began making a career out of it.
As a club DJ in Toronto, his past radio experience was tied to that – doing live-to-airs and mix shows on a variety of radio stations over the years. You might have even seen Mitch on Muchmusic’s “Electric Circus” as the guest DJ countless times during the show’s run. Through it all, he’s always been intensely passionate about good, quality music, whether it was what he was playing in the clubs, or what he listened to at home.
As recently as 2008, Mitch decided to focus on radio more seriously. He enrolled in Seneca College’s broadcasting program and went on to graduate as Valedictorian. Post-college he was led to WAVE where he’s humbled and honoured to be working now. “No other station in Canada plays more music I love, consistently, than WAVE.” |
